What is a Crock Test?

CROCK TESTING is an internationally recognized test method to simulate the rubbing action generated by a human finger and forearm. Crock testing methods are standardized.

The tester uses a standard pressure and rubbing motion to provide quick and accurate test results. Primarily used to evaluate the amount of color transferred from textile materials to other surfaces by rubbing, the Crockmeter has also been utilized to perform smudge and smear tests on images produced by a printer or copier, along with rub abrasion, scuff and mar tests on flat painted surfaces.
