Proceq, a leading manufacturer in non-destructive testing (NDT) technology, today announced the release of a groundbreaking new feature within its GP app version 6.0: AI-powered auto-tagging for Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) concrete scanning systems. The new AI Auto Tagging feature is available for all handheld Proceq GPR concrete scanners, including the compact GP8800, the powerful GP8000, and the GP8100 MCGPR, and is available immediately at no extra cost to all existing and new users.
Saving time and costs for manual work
This industry-first solution is set to dramatically reduce the time and effort required for interpreting and tagging objects such as rebars in concrete scans, moving from hours of manual work to mere seconds. Inspecting the number of rebars in each column of a reinforced concrete (RC) structure is a significant task that must be undertaken during the rebar inspection process. Conventionally, counting rebars has relied on a manual tagging of visually recognized hyperbolas.
Manually tagging every hyperbola on GPR scans is prone to error and labor-intensive, therefore, an impractical task. With the AI-powered auto tagging, it’s possible to obtain crucial information such as depth, spacing, and number of rebars in just a few seconds.
“The GP app version 6.0 marks the beginning of the AI era for our GPR users. Our advanced algorithms can now accurately tag most hyperbolas from GPR data in seconds, transforming how structural performance of reinforced concrete is examined.” – Koichi Oba, CEO at Proceq.
This rapid, precise auto tagging capability offers significant benefits:
This means time spent for tagging drastically reduced, more confidence in the results, measured data digitally archived, and consistent reports every time.
Users are encouraged to download or update to the GP app version 6.0 now to access the AI Auto Tagging feature.
