Proceq Launches New Equotip 550 UCI Motorized Probes for Microhardness Testing

Today, Proceq is pleased to announce the launch of the new Equotip 550 UCI MOTO-03 and UCI MOTO-08 motorized probes, setting a new benchmark for portable microhardness testing. These advanced probes leverage Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) technology with precise, motorized force application for reliable, repeatable results, especially on thin coatings and precision components.

The new UCI MOTO probes offer:

• Extremely low indentation depths down to 3 μm, supporting test forces HV0.3 and HV0.8. This ensures accurate hardness measurement of delicate, functional coatings and hardened surfaces, with results comparable to bench-top Vickers testers.
• Automatic force application minimizes operator influence, while programmable penetration time (1-99 seconds) simulates bench-top testing conditions for various materials. The UCI MOTO probes are designed for precision quality control in demanding industries including automotive, aviation, marine, tooling, machinery, manufacturing, mining, energy, and printing & paper sectors. The probes are also fully compliant with international standards including DIN 50159, ASTM A1038, and GB/T 34205, ensuring strict measurement accuracy and repeatability.

Seamlessly integrated into the Equotip 550 platform, the MOTO probes enable intuitive workflows and support advanced automation capabilities. The built-in compatibility with peripheral NVI QR/barcode scanners allows shop floors and factories to streamline sample identification and traceability.
